Hi and welcome to the new luceoimages.com.  We created this site in large part to help grow our photographic community and to encourage participation from those of you that have been frequenting the old Luceo site, our collective blogs and personal portfolios over the last two years.  This update is the next step in that trajectory, something that’s a little more user-friendly, a little more centralized, and full of new stuff to explore.  So get yourself a cup of coffee and make yourself at home.  Click away and comment away.  We’d love to hear from you.

Oh, and if you’re a little less adventurous, read on and we’ll give you a tour of some of the new features we’re particularly excited about sharing.

THE MENU (HMM.  IT’S EXPANDABLE)

First, and most important, all that space to the right of the menu is empty for a reason.  Check back in the coming months to keep tabs on new features as they stack on.

Second, it’s all business here.  Check out our lighter side by joining us on Facebook and following us on Twitter.  You can find these links at the top right corner of each blog page. Also, the RSS feed.  It’s not just for blogs anymore.  Grab our feed and keep track of the normal blog updates, but also find out when one of our photographers updates their portfolio, when a new email newsletter hits the ether, and when those future additions to menu bar go live.

SHARE YOUR FAVORITE MATERIAL

And, of course, for blog posts that you can’t resist sharing, each blog footer comes complete with a share-bar so that you can pass on your favorite material to others.

Now on to the meat of the site.  You asked for it, we added it.  This site comes with a fully searchable, downloadable archive.  Just type in your keywords and you’re off.

For our commercial clients, we have added a feature to help put you in touch with our photographers.  This feature allows you to solicit a bid or request a portfolio with the click of a button.

PDF portfolios and backlogged copies of our newsletters can be downloaded from our press page on the right hand sidebar.  Just click and the download starts.

And a couple other loose ends before we sign off.  Gallery navigation offers a few nice features.  Click the big red box to screen off the rest of the site and play our photographs against a clean background.  Click the grid to view thumbnails.  Click on your favorite thumbnail to exit to that frame.  Simple as that.  Oh, and the arrows –we hope that’s self-explanatory.

SORTING THE BLOG

Lastly, the blog.  The “Luceo Group” blog features an edited selection of posts from our individual photographers as well as group news.  Some stuff will appear here, some stuff won’t.  If you just want the greatest hits, that’s the place to return to.  If you’re particularly interested in a specific photographer, you can sort their individual posts by selecting their name in the menu.  Posts that don’t appear in the group blog will appear in each photographer’s individual section.
