Not exactly sure what kind of internal forces drove The Wall Street Journal to need a last-minute photograph of someone buying a Christmas tree on an hour and a half deadline, but the assignment sounded better than balancing my books. Matt Craig, Journal editor and MJR collective member, passed on the assignment and I put up my paperwork and went in search of a lot that looked like it had the potential to sell a Christmas tree on a weekday afternoon. Made for an interesting challenge. By the time I found the right lot, I had a little less than 45 minutes to get the picture shot and out the door. Not my normal, explore-as-you-go approach to making pictures, but turned out a nice cluster of coniferous pictures nonetheless.
