Since moving back to Virginia in June I have tried to connect with my brother, who at 14 (nine years my junior), can sometimes be a unique challenge to relate to. Towards the end of November he convinced me and my sister’s boyfriend, Joey, to drive down to Moyock, North Carolina with him and play airsoft with his friends. For those not familiar with this activity it’s like paintball without the mess. Like getting shot with a BB gun, but just plastic BBs. And don’t get me wrong, it still leaves a mark. The light was killer that day and we had a lot of fun. This is the beginning of a series I am working on about this strange and increasingly popular sport.

Daniel – it’s great to hear from you, man. Thanks for the comment. All of these were natural light, actually. It just happened to be a really beautiful day. I hope all is well in Athens!
