Two days before I left for the bi-annual LUCEO meeting in NYC I received a phone call from Marie Tobias, an editor at TIME that I hadn’t previously worked with. She had a last minute assignment in Lutherville-Timonium, Maryland where she wanted me to photograph Linda Groeber, a very independent woman who has had to rely more and more on her two daughters as she gets older. The story focused on the tensions that arise between siblings as they try to make difficult decisions regarding the care of their parents.

I even managed to walk away with an accidental self-portrait. Big ups to Norfolk photographer Mike Wood for assisting me with the 8+ hours of driving on the day of the shoot.
