This week we are featuring a beautiful photo from Tim Lytvinenko, who is based in North Carolina.

About this Image:

“In 2007 I went back to Ukraine to meet some of my family I’ve never met before. I flew into the Kiev airport then drove 150 km east to a small town called Piryatin where my father’s mother lived before coming to America. This was a bigger town than my grandfather’s village in Kalinova, which was no bigger than 25 hand built houses on a dirt road; Piryatin had stores and even a pizza restaurant. Maybe 10,000 people. I came here also to photograph Alena’s wedding. This photo was taken in the wedding chapel in Piryatin, which had some beautiful blueish light thanks to the curtains. The wedding was such an interesting experience. All the traditions and ceremonies were so different than anything I had seen in USA. At this point in the day Alena had been up and doing wedding day activities for nearly 7 hours and it was only 1 p.m.  We were about to move to the wedding reception and party and I felt like she was taking a deep breath while gearing up for the rest of the day.” – Tim Lytvinenko
