Polaroid Week –Luceo

I’ve been nursing a stack of Polaroids for a few months now, adding a frame to it here and there.  My workflow for these things is so much different than my other stuff.  Sometimes I sit down and scan a couple dozen of them in a day.  Other times I am only able to piece together a decent frame one at a time and, when that happens, the stack grows.  And grows.  Until it’s time to start working through them.

Our opening last week provided proper impetus to begin sorting the stack.  Because the layout on the walls was very egalitarian (no credit tags aside from the key in the back of the publication we handed out at the door), we all opted to tack Polaroids of our respective organizations up near the front as a way for show-goers to keep tabs on the photographers.  MJR did their thing on Polaroid 600 and we opted for the Land Camera that has been my second gun for the better part of two years now.  The resulting set of images finally pushed me to take on the scanning job that has been waiting for me on my desk.

Over the course of this week I plan to share a handful of new Polaroid images including work from the mustang roundup, color ‘roids shot while photographing the Zazi ‘Terror from the Suburbs’ article for Time, and another set of outtakes.

Here’s the stuff we produced right before the show.  Full disclosure, if I’m in the picture (left side of the first frame), that means that the image was either Daryl’s or David’s.
