To feed an ever-increasing appetite for oddly-interesting American subculture I spent a few hours this past Saturday at the Georgia Renaissance Festival. The themed town was more of a drunken costume fest with vendors and a dash of folklore than the celebration of a cultural, artistic, and educational revival one might expect from the namesake. Definitely entertaining and worth the trip either way though. I hope to make a return visit if time allots before they pack up their corsets and wooden swords and move on.
