I love being around other photographers. I am always filled with such a sense of belonging and inspiration. LUCEO is my new newspaper staff. The camaraderie that I miss dearly in newspapers is strong with my colleagues. And when we are together it seems to be a nerdy commercial for Canon with a camera in your face every five seconds.
Yet I always seem to have a hard time making pictures during these visits. I like to sit back and watch everyone else. Keep those moments for myself. This past trip to D.C. was no different. One intense week of trying to move our photography forward in a struggling industry. I took only six photographs during that time. Six frames of my fellow photographers. My friends.
