I photographed freshmen orientation at The University of South Carolina for U.S. News & World Report. It wasn’t all that exciting, for visuals or the students either, as you can see by the lines and yawns. But it was fun to experience the nervousness and anticipation of the new students, to hear orientation leaders ruin the end of the summer reading and warn students about being carded at bars, and I was certainly thrilled to add U.S. News to my list of clients and head back to the city I grew up in for a day.
