About the Image:
“This is the cousin of my good friend Bobby who is diving into a natural pool at the base of a waterfall in The Philippines. Bobby and I traveled to SE Asia in late 2006 and visited his hometown in The Philippines. It was my first trip outside of the United States and it was amazing. Filipino culture is so rich and the people are incredibly kind. Every day we were treated like rock stars.
This particular image was made in the northern Philippines. We had driven motorcycles up towards the top of the country and then hiked into this waterfall. The smell of natural water and vegetation always reminds me of my home in Washington state. The whole group tore off their clothes and began diving into the pool at the base of the falls. It is a memory I often feel nostalgic for.” -Kevin German
