Full-time Graphic Designer
DESIGNER POSITION SUMMARY:
Luceo is a strategic media firm with expertise in advocacy-based media and advertising. Our core area of expertise lies in developing and creating materials that advocate for improved public health, equitable reform of the criminal justice system, and a humane and dignified approach to working with people who use drugs. As a small, growing agency, we are looking for a self-directed, thoughtful, and proactive designer who is interested in collaborating on meaningful projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop collateral, working with the Director of Design and the internal clients to achieve the best results
Layout of print pieces
Assist in development of campaign-related collateral
Produce electronic files for printing, and work with printers and media buyers to ensure proper implementation
Produce electronic files for digital media, including common social media formats, banner ads, video overlays and art cards, and limited motion graphics and website/microsite
Provide production and administrative office support to the Agency Partner to ensure the completion of design projects in a timely manner
During non-client time, helps with the development of the Agency’s brand, collateral, assets, and marketing materials.
Schedules self, completes work on time, accomplishes tasks to the fullest capacity; monitors work as appropriate
Uses self-initiative in general office support where many jobs are in progress • Prepares and effectively expresses verbal and written presentations. • Assist with management of contract collaborators outside of the office
QUALIFICATIONS:
1–4+ years of work experience in graphic design
Degree from a 4-year college or university with specialization in graphic design or visual communication
Refined typographic skills with a strong representative portfolio of professional and student work
Illustration and/or motion graphics skills
Careful attention to detail —typography in particular
Able to handle multiple projects at once
Maintains composure, effectiveness and flexibility under pressure; keeps an open mind, and adapts to changing conditions
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills
An ability to operate independently yet contribute in a collaborative environment, the ability to handle several concurrent projects and work efficiently with ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
A solid working knowledge of the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite applications, particularly with a high level of knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop in a Mac environment,
Self motivated, organized, reliable and accountable
Collaborative creative professional with a dedication to excellence and a passion for exhibitions, student life, and education
Comfortable working on issues related to drug use, overdose, communicable diseases, drug policy, and criminal justice reform. Please note, much of our work is based in the modality of harm reduction rather than abstinence. Sensitivity, compassion, and a little humor are crucial.
